We are getting closer and closer to the rumored launch date of June 11th, where Steve Jobs and Apple Inc. will start shipping the new Apple iPhone. Apples stock has continued to pick up as we the big day gets closer.

DailyTech news reported that Apple CFO Peter Oppenheimer said: “We look forward to shipping the iPhone in late June and are very excited.”

This is a clear sign Apple is still on track for the June launch date, and we shouldn’t expect any delays. This is welcomed news after the large delay of Apple’s new operating system; Leopard (OS 10.5).

The Apple iPhone will be priced at $499 for the 4GB model and $599 for the 8GB model, with both machines coming with a two year Cingular Wireless contract in the US.

AT&T has plans to market Apple’s new iPhone to business users; in addition to consumers but analysts aren’t recommending that enterprises supply their employees with Apple’s new handset.

History tells us that business users work best with phone featuring a dedicated qwerty keyboard; RIM’s Blackberry and PalmOne’s Treo. There have been numerous other phones produced featuring touch screen keyboards and buly external alternatives; neither of which have really taken off.

The AT&T brand Cingular recently said that Apple’s iPhone will appeal to business users and that they are working very hard to ensure that the company’s infrastructure will accommodate the device when it ships, said an anonymous source close to AT&T.

An AT&T spokesman said he couldn’t comment on the iPhone beyond when it will become available and its price. The new iPhone is expected to become available in June in the US, while plans for a European iPhone release are still under way.
